Potter's Field Ministries partners with Calvary Chapel Villarreal, which is overseen by Senior Pastor Phil & Rebecca McKay. Phil and Rebecca have four children: Eden, Ezekiel, Elijah, and their newest son Ezra Cyrus.
Phil states: "I have had a heart for ministry from a very young age. I knew without a doubt it was my calling. After several years on staff at Calvary Chapel Vista, my wife and I moved to Costa Rica and started a Bible Study in our house in Villarreal of Tamarindo, towards the end of 2006. In partnership with the McKays and Calvary Chapel Villarreal, in 2010 Potter’s Field Kids launched an after school program and a Bible Club. While the after school program follows a very similar format to our other locations with academic assistance, Bible teaching, nutrition, and activities, the Bible Club is a hybrid of the after school environment and our Kids Club framework, involving more activities and Bible-based learning and less academia. We have seen incredible growth in this PFK location and so many personal testimonies of lives transformed – not only the children themselves, but many family members, as well.
Also helping out with our Costa Rica team are Pastor Victor and Sylvia Vargas who have three children: Victor Daniel, Denis, and Sofia.
The newest member of the team in Costa Rica are Helyi and Leo Leal who have one child, Larisa.
